Mitchell McNett

Funeral Director / Owner

Mitchell J. McNett, was born and raised in Cuba City, the son of Michael and JoAnn (Steinbach) McNett. He attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Grade School and graduated from Cuba City High School in 2010. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with his degree in Biology in 2015. He completed the Mortuary Science Program at Worsham College of Mortuary Science, in Chicago in 2017. Mitch completed his internship with Kevin and is an Wisconsin Licensed Funeral Director. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #765, the Cuba City Lion’s Club, Cuba City Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. In his spare time he helps his dad on their family farm and coaches football at Cuba City High School.

 


 

The Caseys - Kevin and Diane Casey


Kevin and Diane Casey are the previous owners and operators of Casey-McNett Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Kevin has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Wisconsin and Iowa since 1980. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Elementary Education from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. After teaching for three years he attended Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from there in 1979 as valedictorian of his class. Upon the vote of both his teachers and classmates, he received the "Bill Pierce Award" which is given annually to the student who is the most representative of funeral service based upon dedication to funeral service, a high degree of student fellowship, an ambition and desire to succeed and a special all-around attitude that qualifies the recipient as an outstanding funeral service professional. Kevin is active in the Cuba City Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. Kevin is involved in various organizations such as Southwest Funeral Directors Association, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, and National Funeral Directors Association. Kevin and Diane served the surrounding communities for over 40 years.

Diane received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clarke College in Dubuque majoring in Special Education and Elementary Education and a Masters of Science degree in reading from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She taught for 31 years in the Cuba City School District. Diane is active in the Cuba City Lioness organization. They are the parents of three children, Kelly (Todd) Maersch, Christopher and Melissa (McNett) Casey, and Sean Casey.

A wise man once told Kevin, "Case, surround yourself with good people." Kevin has done a great job of that and Mitch believes he has done the same with the wonderful staff we have. Each staff member is actively involved in community and church organizations. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally conduct funerals with the quality of service our families deserve and have come to expect from us.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank past staff members, Oliver Gray, Al Kern, Tom Murphy, Jack Alexander, Jerry Redfern, Vince Wallenhorst, Dave Klein, and Kenny Pickel. These individuals have helped to make us what we are today.
